In late 2019 I was lucky enough to find myself in Germany for work. Even luckier was that the weekends were my own time. I travelled around a fair bit of course, taking advantage of my work location near Munich by flying to Paris on my first weekend and Madrid on my second. The third weekend I opted to travel a bit more locally and venture up to Frankfurt.
I had arranged to shoot with the beautiful Ukrainian model Janna before I had even left Australia, so I was very keen to dive into the shoot for which I had dragged over thousands of dollars worth of lighting and photographic gear from Australia to Europe in my checked luggage!
Janna was lovely. I picked her up from her accomodation and took her to the shoot to save what would have been over an hour of travel on public transport (each way!) and we talked about all things Australia and Ukraine, cute and cuddly animals, Australia’s deadly animals, the bushfires in Australia which had just begun to gain international media attention by then, and Janna’s cherished pet dog, John.
As always seems to happen, the shoot was over far too quickly and we had an absolute blast. There were many challenges faced during the shoot with the location, lighting and equipment, but I’m happy to say the results were worth every bit of hassle.
